Basis of preparation of this Sustainability Statement

This Sustainability Statement covers the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025.

In the coming years, we will continue expanding the scope of the sustainability data we collect and track, with the goal of further aligning ESG reporting with international best practices. The entities included in this Sustainability Statement are consistent with those listed in the Financial Statement 2025, under the Group Companies section.

The report is prepared in accordance with Art. 964 of the Swiss Code of Obligations (SCO). We are exempt from the due diligence and reporting obligations in relation to minerals and metals from conflict-affected areas as we neither directly nor indirectly use these minerals in our products or procure them for any other purpose. Our due diligence and reporting obligations in relation to child labor under the SCO are addressed in this report.

Scope of data collection and reporting

Operating control basis was applied for the data collection and reporting of all indicators.

Environmental performance indicators

In 2025, we expanded the scope of our environmental reporting to include all entities within gategroup’s organizational boundaries, covering 100% of total revenue. Energy, water, and waste data was collected from production units across all business regions, including both catering operations and packaging manufacturing facilities.

As in previous reporting cycles, environmental data for 2025 was collected monthly from January to September, with full‑year values estimated using financial revenue as a proxy. This approach enables full-year disclosure where fourth‑quarter data is not yet available.

A small number of entities provided limited or no utilities data. These exceptions include catering units in Italy, Finland, and Cambodia, as well as certain train, lounge, and retail operations and support services such as offices and warehouses. Where activity data was incomplete or unavailable, we applied extrapolation methods based on financial revenues, or, where relevant and available, facility characteristics such as type and surface area.

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were calculated in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. In 2025, we significantly broadened the scope of our GHG inventory to include all relevant categories across Scopes 1, 2, and 3. For Scope 3 emissions, data was collected at the unit, country, or regional level, depending on data availability and the materiality of each category. For Scope 3.1 (Purchased Goods and Services), calculations were based primarily on spend data by region and purchase category. We intend to improve the granularity and accuracy of procurement data in future reporting cycles to strengthen the precision of Scope 3 calculations.

Energy, water, and waste data are reported in alignment with our GHG emissions calculation approach, ensuring a harmonized methodology across all environmental indicators. This means that both collected activity data and extrapolated figures required to achieve full coverage are consolidated and disclosed consistently across this report.

Social performance indicators

Employee-related data was collected across all group-wide units. The total reported headcount and full-time equivalent (FTE) figures include all employees worldwide. Detailed indicators for 2025 exclude our operations in Italy.

An adjustment was made to the information published in the ESG Report 2024:

A breakdown of employee demographics by gender is presented for indicators where employees provided this information. At present, the report does not include statistics on nonbinary or gender-nonconforming individuals, but we will incorporate this data in future reporting when available.

As of 2024, the majority of gategroup businesses were integrated into our global OHS reporting system. This system is now our reference point for all OHS metrics. The OHS data reported excludes personal accident data from some of our units in Africa, as these entities are still being integrated into the global OHS platform.
